Camelbak Elixir 12 Tablet Tube Review

Camelbak Elixir 12 Tablet Tube
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I feel this is one of the best product out there amongst all the energy/electrolyte/gatorade type drinks.

It has sodium 420mg,
potassium 70mg,
calcium 33mg,
magnesium 18mg,
manganese 1.4mg,
chloride 68mg,
and all are necessary for electrolyte supply and replacement.
It also has vitamin C 86mg.

I don't like sweet things (it's 10 cal/24 oz and this doesn't "taste" sweet) and I get my carbs elsewhere, so this is great me for pre-exercise and during exercise. The taste is surprisingly great. Even other family members like this.

I also like the convenience of a tablet because I can simply drop it in my water bottle and wait. No messy powders to measure and pour, no gels, just a tablet.

OK, this is just a water bottle.
I have had two of these for the kids for six months now, they use them every day. They are durable(how have I dropped Thea, let me count the ways) a must for active kids. They are easy to clean, everything comes apart easily and they have been through the dishwasher countless times. The little loop is great for holding on to and there are no leaks. For a bonus how about the retro brown argyle?
OK, these are great water bottles.

Before the Ergo HydroLock I'd loose my water by an ill placed back pack on the bite valve. They HydroLock has solved this nicely.I also like the 90 degree design that puts the bite valve at good angle.Note that if you've lost your bite valve as I did, you have to purchase that separately for another $6.

CamelBak H.A.W.G. NV 100-Ounce Hydration Pack Review

CamelBak H.A.W.G. NV 100-Ounce Hydration Pack
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Having owned multiple other Camelbak products since the beginning, I've ceom to expect some pretty rugged build quality, clever features(like the integrated rain hood, bladder hanger, tab for my rear red blinking light, removable waist strap...etc.), and also light weight from their products. This one did not dissapoint in any of those departments. The reason I got this pack was because of the N.V.I.S. system, that allows ample airflow across my back while I'm hiking, riding my motorcycle to work or using my commuter bike, and just for general use.I run hot anyway, and live in the heat, and this is by FAR the most comfortable backpack I've ever owned.

Product Description:
A great choice for a day's biking over the most rugged terrain, the CamelBak H.A.W.G. NV hydration backpack features the new N.V.I.S. back panel, which keeps the pack from truly resting on your back for multidirectional ventilation and provides a stable center of gravity. This cycling backpack provides 1120 cubic inches of storage and includes a rain cover for all-weather excursions as well as a 100-ounce (3-liter) HydroTanium reservoir that's backed by a lifetime warranty.
The HydroTanium reservoir is made from durable polyurethane, is easy to fill thanks to the wide mouth opening, and is taste neutral--so water tastes like water (just as it should). It's also embedded with HydroGuard Anti-Microbial Technology and features a Big Bite valve that makes sure the water gets flowing as well as a Hydrolock valve that securely shuts off water flow when you know you won't be needing it. The insulated reservoir pocket keeps liquid cool for hours.
The H.A.W.G. NV has a good-sized main compartment that's large enough to carry food, extra layers and gear for a day full of mountain biking. It's complemented by three external pockets, including a cargo pocket with internal organizer for storing tools and keys as well as a fleece-lined sunglasses/MP3 player pocket. The integrated rain cover stores in its own bottom pocket. Other features include padded shoulder straps, a Dynamic Suspension harness that keeps the pack stabilized, and a removable waist belt. It's made from rugged taffeta and abrasion-resistant ripstop nylon.

Since then, athletes from an ever-growing list of sports and activities use CamelBak hydration systems for their convenience and performance benefits.

CamelBak Scorpion 70-Ounce Hydration Pack Review

CamelBak Scorpion 70-Ounce Hydration Pack
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This Camelbak is designed for winter sports. The description neglects to mention that. Or perhaps it does and I'm just too new to the Camelbak world to interpret the "therminator harness" correctly. It doesn't have the mesh shoulder straps and backing that lets air flow through. It seems like it has great features to keep the water from freezing in cold weather. I wouldn't recommend this for summer use. I took one ride with it when it was in the low 70's, and my back was pretty hot after a short time.

CamelBak Rain Cover Review

CamelBak Rain Cover
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought the Large/XL rain cover for my CamelBak Alpine Explorer 100 oz Hydration Pack and it works well and is made out of a heavy plastic with a pullcord to tighten it around your bag. There's also a velcro strap and cord that you can use to fasten it to the top of the Camelbak so it doesn't fall off.

The only thing that I'm a bit weird about is the bright yellow. Sure, it's great for hiking, but I'd like something more subdued. The CamelBak Tactical Rain Cover does both a subdued color on the reverse of the bright orange, but it's also twice the price.

But if you're going in the outdoors and spending money on a good Camelbak, buy this. You won't regret it.

CamelBak Performance 22-Ounce Water Bottle Review

CamelBak Performance 22-Ounce Water Bottle
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have 4 Camelbak water bottles. They have replaced all my water bottles of the past.I have two 32oz BPA Free water bottles w/ bite valve.I have two of these Performance bottles and will be buying a 3rd (two water bottles, and one for my supplement/energy shake/nutrition for long rides).I am a cyclist.I can't say enough good things about these bottles.

Attributes:
BITE VALVE - best invention ever.Bite then the water flows...otherwise nada
STRAW - (optional) you can either sip water out the bite valve, use pressure to squeeze the flow up from the bottle, or my personal favorite use the straw that is inside the bottle.
(these are pretty rugged pieces that can be bought seperately as they wear, which after 4 months of daily use still looks brand new)
SHUT-OFF VALVE - no spills no leaks. PERIOD.Twist the top of the cap to toggle between open and closed.

*When filled to the brim, it can most likely hold 24oz. The last 22oz. marker is a few ounces shy of the brim of the bottle.
* Also, whatever you put in here always taste exactly like what you put in the bottle. The plastic does not come off.It doesn't taint the fluid you put in there.I've left mine in a car in 105 degree weather for several hours - all I tasted was warm water (not even Hot water - just pretty warm water...almost just how I like it)

I literally have a bottle with me when I go to sleep at night.I leave it on the bed because I get dehydrated and that's how much I trust it.It has not leaked even a drip of water.I attach this to my bike water cages before I place the bike in the trunk and have never seen them spill.I tried my hardest to make these spill or leak - as long as the top is sealed to the bottle properly and the Shut-Off valve closed...you don't need to worry about losing liquid.Also...if you need a stronger stream of water while sipping from the bite valve...just squeeze the bottle.I hardly have to squeeze the bottle to get the pressure I need. The only time I really squeeze the bottle is when I pinch the bite valve and squeeze the bottle to get a consistent, precision stream of water to cool my face/head/upper torso off with a direct blast of water.I also use pack N-Large2 (which when blended with water turns out to be a rather thick substance - it's a powder supplement packed w/ vitamins, protein, glucose, amino acids, etc)and I have enough flow to sip that out of the bottle. On a side note, I stopped using glasses of all sorts - It makes drinking water even better, and arguably "cool"-er (.I drink water...and I take this with me everywhere I go...work, on the road, to the movies, church, the train, restaurants, the bookstore, EVERYWHERE.I never leave home without at least one.

Camelbak Cleaners Review

Camelbak Cleaners
Average Reviews:

The dryer unfortunately does not come with any instructions, and as I have the 1.5 liter snobowl...it becomes quickly obvious that the dryer does not fit.Checking the website, it does confirm that you need to trim the dryer...although refers to cutting at points "B", and there is no reference points anywhere on the dryer...so still unsure what they're talking about.

Cutting the first lower section does not work either...but after spending an 45 minutes of cutting further (don't forget to get rid of all the jagged points) I was finally able to get it to awkwardly fit.I then found a diagram of points A, B, etc... on the Amazon site, so at least that makes sense now, but still does not fit very well.Maybe if you have the bigger camelbacks (2 litres or more), it works fine

If someone else comes out with a different drying rack...I'd look into that instead.

Camelbak Tube Director Review

Camelbak Tube Director
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
While I was initially disappointed that I would have to acquire another item to make my Camelbak completely hands-free, the addition of this item has done exactly what I wanted; made me able to use my hiking poles and not have to stop to get water.Usually bicyclists are the ones looking for such a thing, but if positioned correctly, one can still find the bite valve even with jarring movements such as walking.Anyone doing physical labor would appreciate this; it's so nice to be able to get that sip of water anytime you need, no matter what implement you're holding in your hands. For that very reason I took it on a trail maintenance hike where I was lopping down saw palmetto branches for several hours, and it worked splendidly.I wish this were built into all Camelbaks, but at only $10.00, you will get over the cost of the upgrade in a hurry!

I love this hydration pack! There is a ton of space and it hugs your body great for activities such as mountain biking and hiking. Once I get going I barely notice that I have it on. I also love the 100 oz bladder, I drink a lot of water and the 70 oz bladders just didn't cut it. I carry my DSLR with me in this and it has kept it protected and dry when the occasional rain has caught me off gaurd.

Great product by a great company!

CamelBak Men's M.U.L.E 3-Liter Hydration Pack Review

CamelBak Men's M.U.L.E 3-Liter Hydration Pack
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've owned quite few hydration systems over the years.Recently, I purchased this Camelbak M.U.L.E. hydration pack from Amazon and started using it.Compared to my old hydration systems (original Camelbak and Blackburn), this one is light years ahead. The original Camelbak systems had a fairly small opening which made it very difficult to put larger ice cubes into the reservoir not to mention cleaning the inside.Additionally, the closure caps for the reservoir were held in place with friction.

The current systems have openings large enough for me to put my fist through which makes filling the reservoir with ice cubes and cleaning the systems very easy.Additionally, the reservoir cap now screws on securely, so it's unlikely to pop open even if you land on your back after flipping over the handlebars.

The M.U.L.E. is well constructed of heavy duty fabric. The multiple compartments are definitely useful for carrying gear in addition to your car keys. There's even a pocked at the top for your music player with a hole to thread your headphones through.

My biggest complaint is that the reservoir is located in the back panel through a side zip pocket. This makes it a hassle to fill the reservoir because you have to almost remove it or risk pouring water accidentally into the compartment. On the other Camelbak systems (Lobo, Hydrobak, etc), the reservoir fill cap is located on the front of the pack and easily accessible without removing the reservoir.

Overall, this product is well constructed and useful. My complaint is really just a minor one because with 3 liters of fluid, it's unlikely you'll need to access the reservoir too often on any single day hike or bike expedition.

Product Description:
The most popular mountain biking system on the market just got better. The redesigned M.U.L.E. hydration/cargo pack offers the ultimate blend of features, with a well-organized overflow cargo system, a weather-resistant MP3 pocket, and a 3-liter liquid capacity that keeps you hydrated for more than three hours on the trail. The pack is notably comfortable thanks to the removable waist belt and dynamic suspension harness, which maximize load stability. The Air Director back panel, meanwhile, delivers enhanced ventilation on hot days--a must for hard-core bikers who want to maintain their high energy level.
Add in such bonuses as a secure 540-cubic-inch cargo pocket with an internal organizer, a durable splash guard that protects the pack from mud and abrasion, and reflective details that help you stay visible in low-light conditions and you have a great pack for virtually any mountain biking scenario (and a few non-biking situations as well). The pack by which all others are judged, the M.U.L.E. is backed by a two-year warranty (with a lifetime warranty on the Omega reservoir).

CamelBak BPA-Free Better Bottle with Classic Cap Review

CamelBak BPA-Free Better Bottle with Classic Cap
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
...if you are a regular and massive water drinker like me.I carry water around with me all day and drink easily a gallon per day, so I figured that investing in a BPA-Free container makes a lot of sense in the long run.

Also the construction and materials of these bottles is top-notch.Very sturdy, and the plastic they use for the lid is both visually and tactilely pleasant.Where the lid screws onto the bottle, it seems to be slightly softer so it's quite leakproof and you don't have to twist it super tight for it to prevent leakage like you do with some cheaper bottles.

The shape is perfect for fitting into the mesh water-bottle side pockets of my backpacks, a SwissGear laptop pack and a Jansport daypack. One liter ties me over for a good 2-3 hours.I use one of these bottles for water, and another one for Gatorade whenever I go to the gym.

The plastic loop in the lid is great for carrying with one finger or clipping onto a strap on your backpack; it also helps you twist to open the lid.Pretty smart design!

Overall, this is one product that DOES live up to the "You get what you pay for" cliche.

* CLEANING TIP: All you need to do is clean with hot water and add a drop or two of bleach to it, then rinse.I only have to do that maybe once every 2-3 weeks, and I use my bottle every day just about. Most of the time just a simple rinse in warm water will do, but the odor develops over time due to growth of the bacteria in the backwash that happens every time you drink from it---if you pour the water out of the bottle into a glass instead of drinking directly from the bottle, I'd imagine you wouldn't have any odor issues.
