(More customer reviews)This rope is for people wanting serious rope training. I am purchasing my second. 1st one finally broke in the middle after about 18 months of regular outdoor use. Rope will tangle if weights are removed and handles not reassembled properly. I tried the Everlast weighted leather, but it is too short at 9 ft (I am 6 ft).

This rope is ideal for men 5'10" and up. 10 ft with 2 pounds will smoke you after a short workout. Great after a run. Try doubles (pass the rope twice between skips). I don't recommend this rope for beginners. As you can see from other reviews, it's just too heavy. You have to skip with authority. Rope will untangle once you get it going. Best rope on Amazon. Don't hesitate.

(More customer reviews)My daughter and her friends love these jump ropes.They have been trying to double-dutch but the beaded ropes at school hurt when they get hit.The lightweight cotton ropes were not heavy enough to swing - so I ordered these.They loved them!She said they are easy to swing and because they do not hurt when they hit you, the kids are not afraid to jump in.Jumping rope is such great excercise.It's funny to watch them jumping rope with the snow all around the playground.I would highly recommend this item.

Valeo Deluxe Speed Jump Rope Review

(More customer reviews)Yes, it's a decent speed rope for the money and yes, it's extremely frustrating to adjust.For me, the problem wasn't so much in getting the metal cap off (easily done with a simple, sturdy flathead screwdriver pinned in the center of the tab) nor was it in actually adjusting the length of the rope.The problem was in getting the tab back in the handle.The cylindrical metal tab has to be snug in the handle lest it fly off during your excercise, but OH MYYY!!!, getting it back in requires an incredible and equal amount of pressure on all sides at the same time.I spent almost an hour before I finally got lucky and was able to push it back in.Good luck!!

As for the review concerning knots, I can see how they might prove to be cumbersome with the hindering of the motion of the rope.However, I'm not sure why anyone would want to tie knots in the first place.Just cut away the excess rope.

Now that my frustration is gone and my rope is fixed, it does a great job.
