TKO 220AS 20 lb Individual Rehab Ankle Weight Review

TKO 220AS 20 lb Individual Rehab Ankle Weight
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Good:
* I couldn't find these in bricks-and-mortar stores at all, and it was a relief to purchase them affordably through a vendor I trust.
* The 1-lb weight inserts make it easy to adjust the weight, with the cuff on or off.
* I have been using them for about two weeks, and the effect on my workout - and my legs - is tremendous.

The Bad:
* The cuffs are "adjustable" with two LONG velcro straps that wrap all the way around the ankle. No matter how carefully I wrap them, I just can't get them as tight as I'd like.Straps which wrapdouble back through D-rings would have been much more useful.
* The cuffs tend to ride down and dig into the tops of my feet. Cushioned by gel or not, I can't exactly call that "comfortable."I'm not sure whether this is specific to this brand, or typical of ankle weight cuffs.

Overall:
I do wish I'd been able to try these and some other brands before I purchased them. However, I'm delighted to have found them and with the results I'm seeing.

TKO 205AWP 5lb Pair Wrist/ Ankle weights Review

TKO 205AWP 5lb Pair Wrist/ Ankle weights
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
These TKO wrist weights can be adjusted at 1/4 lb increments, and they don't scatter little metal granules like the Bell wrist weights that I used to use.You might consider wearing a thick old sock under them at the wrist...[cut out the toe] to prevent chafing... since the terry cloth lining is good, but not at the harder edges.

One other reviewer commented that the weights came flying out when punching.I found that happened also.To avoid that happening I put the bands on my wrists so that the pockets faced in toward my elbows rather than out toward my fists. The weights, when punching, are pushed into the bottom of the slots, rather than toward the velcro flaps holding them into the slots.

I'm still using them in 2010.

Hydro-Tone Hydro Bells - Yellow - Pair Review

Hydro-Tone Hydro Bells - Yellow - Pair
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've used the bells for about 15 years now, having gotten sick of always being sore after weight training. There is no piece of equipment that compares to them.I have taught dozens of fellow gym members the proper use (that is, how to pour all one's effort into an overwhelming total body workout for range of motion, cardio, coordination and POWER).Any person of any fitness level can use them: I have taught a senior who rehabbed her arthirtis in 2 months and regained full motion and stength, a golfer who added 20 yards to his stroke, and have recently taught two powerlifters and one female bodybuilder who could not believe how theiy were tested by this simple product.Do you want to get in serious shape?Buy them, find a pool, rent a Tai Chi video, and do those moves in the water.Hold them under the water and do cross-country skiing, moving thru the pool or remaining staionary.Hold them together and do cable-rows. Keep a good posture from your shoulders to your hips, extend your legs into a long stretch, and PUSH.Don't bend over, LUNGE! (STAY ON THE BALLS OF YOUR FEET, IF YOU HAVE YOUR FEET FLAT YOU WILL TWIST YOUR KNEES)CAVEAT: the video does not do them justice, and it advises that you do not do back-twisting moves. This surely is to avoid liability. The whole advantage is that you can, with proper form, push the power in your legs, hips and core, up through your trunk and out through your shoulders into a workout that can have you doing hundreds of reps per hour with all major muscle groups at once. You cannot imagine the strength this produces, if only you are willing to push yourself.GET THEM NOW.

These ankle weights fit beautifully and do exactly what they claim - add 5 lbs to each ankle. Comfortable, easy to put on and take off, well-constructed. I'd buy more like them if I needed to.

Valeo AW5 5-Pound Adjustable Ankle / Wrist Weights Review

Valeo AW5 5-Pound Adjustable Ankle / Wrist Weights
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have also purchased weights called 'The Cuff' & another brand - but they don't compare to the Valeo weights. Not only can you remove individual weight packets from each weight attachment - but the entire design is SUPERIOR:Valeo weights close with a 'D' ring plus velcro straps, so the straps don't stick out (I wore a rubber band around the other designed weights to hold the strap down, lest it catch on something &/or come loose) & the Valeo's are SECURE & SAFE!They stay exactly where I put them around my ankles when I walk through brush, etc.The Valeo's don't twist or loosen, regardless of what I'm doing.I would recommend these over all the just 'wrap around velcro straps' closures, without the 'D' ring design, to everyone considering buying any wrist or ankle weights.Don't waste money on the inferior designs (that actually cost MORE!).

Valeo AW10 10-Pound Adjustable Ankle / Wrist Weights Review

Valeo AW10 10-Pound Adjustable Ankle / Wrist Weights
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
If you're looking around for some wrist/ankle weights, these are a good choice. Here's what I like the most about them:

-they're adjustable. This is clearly their best feature and saves you having to buy multiple weights of different increments. No need to buy a 1lb weight, then a 2lb weight, and then a 3 as you get stronger on an exercise- with these, you just take out or add what weight you need

-the price is comparable to other cuff weights and a cheap means overall of doing exercises where you need added weight

-they're portable enough that one could throw them in the car when traveling

For me, this is the way to go if you're looking for some cuff weights to go along with your home exercises. A word of caution- while it says "10 lb adjustable weights", that doesn't mean each cuff is 10 lbs- rather each cuff is a made up of five, 1lb cylinders for a total weight of 5 lbs for EACH cuff.

Good for general fitness or home physical therapy exercises, they're a great little product. Also recommend Treat Your Own Tennis Elbow for those looking for a good resource on tennis elbow.
