(More customer reviews)Assembly is easy - a person needs 2 wrenches 3/4 inch, 1 wrench 11/16 inch, and 1 wrench 1/2 inch to put it together.There's not much to the directions but there's not much to putting it together either - Took 30 minutes for me and that was taking my time.

The space required is small - we have a fairly full exercise room and managed to make room in a corner easily due to the small foot print.

Very stable doing knee lifts or dips - I weigh 225 and there is no give or flex at all to it - and it never rocks even when working the obliques.For my wife the steps make it easy to mount for the knee raises - I can get in to position standing on my toes, I'm 6 foot 1 inch tall.For dips I need to bend at the knees a little bit to keep my toes off the ground but not much.

If a person is looking for a good quality device for these exercises - this is one I am very comfortable recommending.

EF Products Power Tower VKR Vertical Knee Raise EF-7617 Review

(More customer reviews)I was shopping for a heavy duty commercial grade power tower when I came across the EF-7617.The other comparable power tower was the Body Solid deluxe vertical knee raise which is similarly priced. I have used this one personally at a local gym and have been pleased with it. I almost ordered the Body Solid, as there were no reviews available on the EF.Other EF products had favorable reviews so I went ahead and ordered. So far I am very impressed.

This power tower is heavy duty 11 gauge steel.It weighs almost twice as much as its similarly priced competitors (Body Solid, Yukon).When assembling it, if you drop a piece on your head you may looking at a trip to your local ER.Once the bolts were tightened, there was zero flex when hanging from it.No fear of tipping.It's rated for 300 lbs, but could probably hold twice that much.All the parts were present and perfectly aligned. Assembly took about 90 minutes and was able to do it myself, though a second person to hold things would have helped.Due to its mass, it felt like I was assembling a piece of military equipment.Should last a lifetime and then some.

A cheaper power tower would suffice, but there's always a good feeling when using exercise equipment that is heavy duty.The pull bar is split which allows pull ups in different hand positions.If you want to do close grip pull ups this creates a problem, but the power tower is substantial enough to do these on one side of the pull up bar without feeling unstable.Overall, very heavy duty and well built.

Stamina 1700 Power Tower Review

(More customer reviews)My biggest concern was if this can handle 6'3 265lbs of weight. It is sturdy. Only thing I didn't like was the pushup bars but they aren't bad but you can't go DEEP cause there is a bar that will touch your head before you get to that point. I mainly got this for pullups and leg raises anyway it's a nice addition to my home gym. Own mine now for a little over a year I didn't wanna do a review till I knew this was very solid and long lasting.

Powerline PVKC83X Vertical Knee Raise Chin Dip Machine Review

(More customer reviews)I decided to take a chance on this because the reviews were ok, and it's cheap. Well...it's a good try, but I think that in order to hit the sweetspot of attractive price and UPS shippable packaging, too many compromises had to be made.

Kind of flimsy: I weight about 190, and this thing flexes noticeably under my weight. I can see the pull bar bend as I put weight on it, and when I do dips, the whole thing gets rocking. At no time does it feel like it's going to tip over, but it definitely flexes in use.

Ergonomic nightmare: I'm 6' tall, and for me, the back pad is way too low. When doing pullups, at full extension, the horizontal arms are touching my armpits- it's too narrow.When I do dips, if I'm not careful, I will hit my head on the pullup bar. I understand now why MOST pullup/dip stations place the pullup bar on the other side of the tower. It takes up more room, but it would make a MUCH more useable apparatus.

I think the photos they use are either photoshopped, or they found the tiniest models they could to make the device appear roomy. It isn't.

$200 isn't a lot of money, so I don't feel 'burned' or ripped off...I just wish now that I had built something myself instead.

Look for mine on Craigslist real soon!

(More customer reviews)First off: I received the shipment missing two pieces from the manufacturer.I emailed them requesting assistance.They immediately shipped the missing two pieces to me.I can't fault a company for an honest mistake, but I will commend them for so quickly and easily fixing it.

Secondly, the unit, itself.
A) Construction:I was able to put it together by myself in under 2 hours.
B) Exercises:The pullups are good.Good widegrip and normal pullup options.Very little movement when using.The dips wobble just a little, but the tower is certainly stable.Also, because the dips are on the same side as the pullup bar, there needs to be a slight bit of care to avoid the overhead pullup bar when raising on the dips.This does not hinder the exercise, just requires a little getting used to.Although I don't use them as much, the pushup bars and vertical knee raise bars work well.
C)Space:this is why I purchased this equipment.I had a limited space and this machine excels at that.Because the exercises are all on the same side, the machine fits smooothly up against a wall.I am more than willing to be a little more attentive when doing dips in order to have the equipment fit where I wanted it to.
D)Bottomline:I wanted a pullup and dips machine and I had a limited space to put it in and the Amber VKR Tower - Space Saver definitely met my needs, along with adding two additional exercise options, and all for a very reasonable price ($130 + $55 S&H).I am very satisfied with my purchase.

(More customer reviews)I bought this piece of equipment based on my own study of this type of equipment and a bang for your buck attitude. I cannot say I am unhappy at all. I weigh around 200 pounds. I recived the apparatus and took it home. I also bought a 4x8 rubber mat for it. It was very easy to assemble and I had already looked at the engineering of it so I knew it would be stable.
I use it all the time. The dip arms could have been engineered so they would not move at all but I have it tightened up and it really isnt an issue. I would have raised the back pad and made the arms about one or two inches longer but it works fine for me. I would recommend this item for anyone up to about 220 pounds but not much more. I have a dip belt which I use to do pullups and I have put about 70 pounds on the belt and done pullups with no problems whatsoever. I am very pleased with it especially at the price. Thank You for asking.
I have used every aspect of it and it is a solid viable home workout item for people wishing to have something when they cannot get to the gym. The execises done with it are very important to all around strength in performance atheletes. So get off your butts and buy this people and quit fooling yourselves that pullups,dips,crunches and pushups are not needed to win in todays competitions of virtually every physical sport.

(More customer reviews)This chin up bar works good.I'm 160 lbs and I haven't had any problems with it.I also have an Iron Gym but my door frame doesn't have a top edge for the crossbar to rest on, so I can't mount it (it works good for push ups though).The Sunny Health bar fits in my door frame and I can still close my door (another bar I bought locally had square brackets and I couldn't close my door with them installed--other reviews about chin up bars with square ends on amazon also talk about this as a problem).This chin up bar has circular ends and doesn't rely solely on it's brackets to keep it in place (which is good because it didn't quite fit either and I could only put in 2 of the 3 bracket screws in on each side).In addition this bar extends on BOTH SIDES to apply pressure to your door frame, which helps to keep it in place and keeps the grips centered--unlike most other bars that only adjust on one side, leaving the grips off center.It also doesn't move/turn when you're using it or after you've used it.It stays in place good and I haven't had to readjust anything.The only thing about this bar is that the screws that came with it are cheap/stripped, (they were also a little too long for my door frame...)--but that can be fixed by a quick trip to the hardware store and about $1 for new screws.

It is well built and quite stout, weighing in at 155 lbs.Since I am 6'6" and 240 lbs, I ordered it primarily because of its 92 inch height and rugged construction.I really hate doing pullups on a rickety, short chin rack, with my knees only inches off of the ground.It more than handles me and any additional weight that I choose to hang or dip with.Leg lifts (abdominals) are also easily accomplished using straps while hanging from the chin bar. I'm very satisified with this solid equipment.

I agree with the other reviewers, the price plus shipping quoted by this vendor is outrageous.I shopped around for this item online and purchased it for a great price with free shipping (Mansion Athletics).

Weider 200 Power Tower Review

(More customer reviews)The Weider 200 is available through Amazon, but for $149.00, delivered, Bayou Fitness offers a better deal. The 200 is rugged, solid, and is rated for persons weighing up to 300 lbs, compared to 200-250 lbs. for similarly priced units.

I already own a Weider Max (i.e. Crossbow), which I'm happy with, but I wanted something that would allow me to do pull-ups and the captain's chair exercise. I hate doing crunches, and a study by the Biomechanics Lab at San Diego State University ranked the captain's chair as the most effective exercise for working the obliques and second most effective for working the rectus abdominus. The 200 works well for these and related exercises. I don't use it for pushups, but the awkwardly placed lower crossbar could be a problem.

Time from order to deliver by Fed. Ex. Ground was about 10 days. The instructions are straightforward and assembly took about an hour.As with the Max, the instructions state a rubber mallet and two people are required for assembly. The mallet is unnecessary, and never again mentioned in the instructions, and I had no difficulty assembling it by myself. You will require two wrenches and a screwdriver, however.

Another reviewer commented that it doesn't take up a lot of space. I suppose the concept of "a lot of space" is relative, but the 200 isn't something that, like the Max, can be folded up and stored against the wall or in a corner. It's pretty big, and moving it to a different room will require partial disassembly, so plan on assembling it where you intend to use it.

Creative Fitness Door Gym Broad Reach Attachment Review

(More customer reviews)I got this accessory with my Door Gym and I like it.But, when they say this is an "efficient" accessory - they mean it.It simply rests on the narrower neutral grip posts of the Door Gym.The Door Gym has multiple grip areas, but two of them are perpendicular to the rest of the bar for narrow neutral grip chin ups.The Broad reach bar is wide with downward grips (like lat pull down bar in a gym).

Anyway, this works fine if you have the faith to try it the first time and prove to yourself it won't roll off because your body weight has it pinned on the posts. It has foam covering that adheres to the foam on the Door Gym posts. It will not roll easily, but it does a little. I think it is safe for adults who understand how to use it.Do not give it to kids younger than about 15 (in my estimation) because some of them are too likely to play with, or misuse, it and get hurt.

Even though this thing works and does what you want a broad bar to let you do, I deducted a point in the rating because I don't thinkthey were up front in explaining exactly what it is and is not.
