Body Solid Multi-Press Rack GPR370 Review

Body Solid Multi-Press Rack GPR370
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have very good things to say about Body-Solid. I have at least five of their pieces of equipment in my home exercise regimen. Their equipment is well-designed, with the user in mind, well-built, and, though made in China, is constructed with excellent quality control. It is, as they advertised, built to last a lifetime.

I received this machine by FedEx (about 180 lbs) in two boxes. Shipping costs are a factor in shopping for price on this rack. I got free shipping. I estimate the freight would be around $100.00.

It took me about two hours to fully assemble. The good news is that I was able to assemble the entire rack with only a 3/4" socket and a 3/4 " box wrench.

I think that who ever made the assembly instructions did not talk fully with the design engineers. This is really well-designed. The picture and the instructions show the racks on the outside of the vertical supports. It works fine if you assemble it this way. However, if you assemble it this way you can only use 7 foot olympic bars. I assembled it with the racks on the inside of the vertical supports.

You have to reverse the racks so the the numbering on the racks are on the inside, and, you have to reverse the safeties. However, with the racks and safeties reversed I can comfortably use a 6 foot olympic bar for curls, in addition to a 7 foot bar for bench presses and squats.

If you can obtain this at a decent price, including shipping, then it is a fantastic bargain. It almost replaces most Smith machines, a bench press rack, a squat rack, a weight tree, and, with a bench, can be used for presses, dumbells, or, without a bench, can be used for overhead presses and jerks at failure point.

A note for mature users: I am 54, and, after fracturing both shoulders I am slowly coming back to condition. For rehab, this machine is ideal. The safeties are very secure, and, it gives you the confidence to push through the pain, and, develop the muscles you need for support while healing.

This item gets and "excellent" from me all the way around. . . .

Body Solid GDIB46L Olympic Bench with Leg Developer Review

This bench is a disappointment. The post for adding weight to the leg station is 1", not the 2" as shown.I negotiated a $50 discount with Amazon to fix that. Also, one of the barbell standards is bent slightly which causes the adjustable post within to bind.I'm going to have to fix that too, by bending the post to match.I expect new products to work out of the box.Save yourself the trouble and avoid this product.

Giant Ab/Back Machine Review

Giant Ab/Back Machine
Average Reviews:

The base metal part came in a little crooked.Doesn't bother me at this point, but long term might affect the machine.
The instructions are incorrect. The very first step show L-shaped part which is a little different from what it really is.There are 2 triangular platters which are never mentioned in the instructions and have to be attached to the L-shaped part and the other part specified in 1st step.I realized that towards the end of the assembly, so had to dis-assemble and reattach those platters.
The machine however is good for what it's supposed to be used for.

BodyCraft F611 Leg Extension / Curl Attachment Review

BodyCraft F611 Leg Extension / Curl Attachment
Average Reviews:

Perfect high-quality add-on for the BodyCraft bench. My only suggestion is that when doing leg curls to use some padding under your stomach so that the space and hard edges of the bench's padding between the seat of the bench and the back support part of it don'tunnecessarily irritate you.

Powerline PAB21X Ab Bench Review

Powerline PAB21X Ab Bench
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I am very pleased with the Powerline Ab bench and would give it 5 stars if the steel was slightly heavier (not needed, but I guess I'm picky). The item was fairly easy to assemble and very intuitive to use. The back rest is adjustable and quickly slides up and down the rear support after loosening a thumbscrew. The back pad is VERY firm, yet comfortable. My 4 year-old son who weighs 45 lbs was jumping up and down on it before it was assembled and didn't even dent it. The curve felt quite natural and even comfortable on my back.
The handholds on the strap seem very sturdy and the strap itself seems to support the back of the head when doing the exercises. The pully is very strong and rolls quite smoothly.
I've loaded it up with 100 lbs for this workout using 25 lb plates (it holds both standard and olympic quite well) and felt no strain or give in the device (in me, well that's another story). One rep on the ab bench felt like 25 on the floor. I am a competitive powerlifter and am very happy to see that the ab bench can take some weight.
I am extremely happy with my purchase and wish I had made it earlier. I definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for greater core strength or has back problems that hinder their attempts at doing other abdominal exercises.

Best Fitness BFPR10 Multi Press Rack Review

Best Fitness BFPR10 Multi Press Rack
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Been using for a couple of months and am quite happy with the product. Assembly was quick & fast. Noticed there were two stable positions (vertical bars slightly closer at the top or slightly wider at the bottom).

Best features:
* The safety bars (both squats and bench presses) are extremely useful when you don't have a spotter.
* Easily do both squats & bench presses on the same side by adjusting height.
* Compact footprint. You still need an 7 ft Olympic sized bar. A 6 ft bar will do if the separation between the joints is standard (I think it's 52.5" or so).
* Price! Couldn't find too many in this range that offers the safety bars as well.

Cons:
* The horizontal bar at the bottom is mounteda little high, so it can interfere with some benches. I have a folding bench and need to swap the front-back directions to get it to fit. Standard workout benches probably won't have this issue. So buy this first, and then the bench.
* Doesn't tell you how much weight you can safely use. I have a 300lb set, but am not using all of it right now.

Overall, very happy with the product, and would highly recommend to someone who is in need of a compact footprint for doing squats (as well as bench presses).

Exercise Equipment Sit-up Bar Review

This is the best $15 I ever spent on any equipment. It is simple, strong, takes up very little space and easy as heck to install. I like my feet anchored when I do sit ups and this is perfect. It is adjustable for feet height (in case you are wearing shoes or barefeet-has a foam sleeve). All you do is slide it under a door, close the door and you're set! Nothing can be done to improve this item. Its great as it is!

Best Fitness BFOB10 Olympic Bench Review

Best Fitness BFOB10 Olympic Bench
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've been working out with weights for 15 years but have been out of the game for the last several due to personal reasons. A few months ago I was told by my Dr. that I need to lose about 25 lbs. so I decided to get back in the game after a 2 year hiatus. However, because of my very limited time and having 2 young children at home, I did not want to go back to the gym at this time. I'm away from my kids enough during my work day so I decided to set myself up at home. The problem was, as it is with most people, I have very limited space and certainly don't have a large extra room I can dedicate as a home gym.

I bought this bench because the price was appealing and because I needed something that would fold up and take up less space since it's being stored in our bedroom. I was actually surprised at how sturdy it is for a folding bench. The bench is solid and folds up and stores very easily in a small corner of our bedroom. The mid width is perfect for my 6' bar. It will handle 6' and 7' bars but you won't be able to use it with a bar less than 6' long (the distance between the uprights is too wide for shorter bars). It's very stable and wide enough that you don't pinch your hands when re-racking the bar. It's not as heavy duty, stable or wide as an olympic size bench but it's less than half the price of a good olympic width bench and takes up much less space as well. And there are no folding olympic width benches available that I know of (not to mention I don't have the room for a bench that wide). The uprights have a good range of adjustment heights and can be turned around to do squats. The adjustment pins seem a little thin to me but this isn't a gym quality olympic bench and it is not rated to hold a dumptruck like those benches.

On the down side (and the only minor reasons that I did not rate it a 5), the back rest pad is spaced a little far away from the seat pad making for an uncomfortable gap under your lower back when doing flat presses. It's not detrimental to the exercise as your lower back doesn't touch the pad when doing flat presses anyway, you just need to make sure that you slide down far enough toward the leg developer so that your butt is fully supported by the lower pad. The backrest pad really could have been moved a little closer to the lower pad to close up this gap some and decrease the overhang of the pad at the top end (see comment about squatting). With inclined presses, it's not an issue, only when laying flat on your back. Also, the top of the backrest pad extends a little to far past the uprights and is partially in the way when aproaching the uprights from the top end for doing squats. Ideally, you should pivot the backrest up and out of the way to use the bench for squatting, a minor inconvenience.

One other downside is that the owner's manual does not tell you what the weight capacities of the bench are. This information is not posted on any web sites I visited when shopping for a bench either so I had to contact the manufacturer to get this information. Incidentally, the maximum weight for the uprights is 300 lb. and the maximum weight for the leg developer is 100 lb. I think the weight capacity for the leg developer is a little low but when using the heavier weights one could always do one leg at a time, effectively doubling the weight capacity per leg. I think this is a minor compromise considering the low cost of the bench.

Assembly was very easy and took only about 45 minutes. They even give you the tools you will need to assemble the bench. The assembly instructions were pretty good with only 1 or 2 minor discrepancies that anyone with any type of common sense could figure out. Bolt holes all lined up, the finish is very good and there are not a lot of parts to get lost.

Overall, I would rate this bench as an excellent buy. For people looking for a good quality stable bench for the home that does not cost a lot, takes up little space when stored and can handle a full 300 lb. load, this bench fits the bill very well. Of course if you are a serious bodybuilder who needs to squat 500 lb. you will need to look at full sized olympic benches and cages, but you should already know that. This bench was not designed to do the work and hold the weight of a full cage, but it doesn't take up the whole room either. This bench was designed for the average person looking to get/stay in shape at home and it meets that goal very well. The average person working out at home typically won't need to load more than 300 lb. on the uprights.

I would not hesitate to buy this bench again.

Weider 220W FID Bench with 80-Pound Weight Set and Leg Developer Review

Weider 220W FID Bench with 80-Pound Weight Set and Leg Developer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
In the end, this is exactly what I needed for my 14-year old kids, but they will soon outgrow it.I would not recommend this for adult use, as while the set is very nice quality and nicely put together, it is kind of undersized.OK, I'm 6'1" tall, but I'm quite thin too and only 180lbs.I cannot comfortably use the set at all, either for bench pressing or the leg exercises.I'm writing this to guide others, since the product description does not say this is just for teens, and nobody else has posted a review.

Overall, this is a great starter set for the money and my kids are very happy. But, I'll have to get a larger set eventually.
